Q: What does Blasian mean? And who uses it?

A: Blasian (pronounced Bleh-ey-shun) is a relatively new word that people use to describe a person or people's mixed ethnicity. Blasian is the result of merging the words Black and Asian together. People who are of Blasian decent (meaning they are mixed with African-American and Asian) use it to describe their race. To me, it gives us a sense of pride because we have a label for our ethnicity instead of just being labeled a "HALF BREED".
